What is The Alaska Bird Club?

The Alaska Bird Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization incorporated in the State of Alaska. Membership dues are applied towards efforts to educate people about owning companion birds. Our main projects are our monthly educational meetings and a monthly newsletter that provides information on basic bird care, training, behavioral issues, nutrition, and other pet bird-related topics. We also aid in the adoptions of unwanted birds and have a very successful committee that assists in the rescue and return of lost birds.

Meetings
The methods and technology for gathering and meeting changed during the recent global health event making it easier for people outside of the Anchorage area to meet other parrot people in a virtual environment. For that reason, all our meetings will use Zoom. Four times a year we will also have in-person and Zoom meetings together. These will happen in March, June, September, and December.

The in-person meetings will be at the Anchorage Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at 2824 E 18th Avenue in Anchorage, Alaska.

How you can help
The Alaska Bird Club is an all-volunteer organization with no paid positions. We do have expenses, though, such as food and vet care for our fostered parrots; equipment storage; insurance; voice-mail phone service; and web hosting. You can help support our efforts through your donations and club membership.
You can also help The Alaska Bird Club earn donations just by shopping with your Fred Meyer or Kroger rewards card!
